CD-Key Warning:
Blizzard Entertainment will only request your CD-Key or account password through formal technical support
procedures in rare instances. Blizzard will never request your CD-Key or Account password in a Battle.net
channel or in a Battle.net game. If anyone asks for this information while you are on Battle.net - DO NOT
give it to them. Blizzard may ask for this information if you call the technical support phone number,
fill out a form on the www.blizzard.com website, or if you send an email to any
of the @blizzard.com email addresses. If you are concerned about sending this information over email,
please call (949) 955-1382 to speak with a Blizzard Entertainment Technical Support Representative.
Virus Warning:
Third party programs such as trainers, hacks, and cheats can install viruses and "back door" programs
that grant hackers access to your computer. For information on
virus scanners please read the
Hacks, Warnings and Security Information page.
- Never test hacks, send them to Blizzard (hacks@blizzard.com) to test
- Never share your computer with people who may use hacks
- Never use your account on a computer that has hacks installed.
Warning about being banned from Battle.net:
The use of trainers, cheats, and hacks (including but not limited to map hacks) are not allowed on
Battle.net and the use of such programs may result in the banning of your account(s) and possibly
even your CD-Key from accessing Battle.net. We regret having to employ extreme measures, however,
certain unscrupulous players impair the game play of the Battle.net community as a whole, and
severe action is now both warranted and required.

Warcraft III Map Hack Users Banned - 9/06/2002
In keeping with our aggressive stance against hacks and cheats, we have closed 20,504 accounts that
were found to be using Warcraft III map hacks, and removed their ladder records. In addition,
the CD keys of those offenders have been banned from ladder play for two weeks. We will continue to
monitor the Warcraft III realms for malicious players. Please note: repeat offenders can suffer permanent
removal from Battle.net if they continue to use hacks.
We regret having to employ these extreme measures; however, certain unscrupulous players have impaired
the game play of the Warcraft III community as a whole, and severe action continues to be warranted and
required.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this matter. If you would like to report additional
instances of hacking or cheating, please contact us
at hacks@blizzard.com. Thank you again for your continued
support.

New Novel From Pocket Books, Diablo: Kingdom of Shadow, In Stores Now - 8/30/2002
Legend speaks of a long-dead city known as Ureh, thought by many to have been a gateway to the High Heavens. It is believed that every two thousand years, when the stars align and the shadow of Mount Nymyr falls upon the ruins, Ureh is reborn -- and all its lost riches are revealed to those brave enough to seek them out.
Now, after a lifetime of research and intense calculation, the Vizjerei sorcerer, Quov Tsin, has come to witness Ureh's rebirth for himself. But that which awaits Tsin and his hired band of mercenaries is nothing like what they expected. They will find that the dream of radiant Ureh is, in fact, a twisted nightmare of horror -- one that will draw them inexorably into The Kingdom of Shadow.
